On a daily basis, besides the Company, the Fund’s Depository Bank (the custodian bank for the assets) also values the net asset value of the Fund and checks whether the issuing and redemption of units on behalf of the Fund is carried out in accordance with the Law and the Fund’s regulations. It keeps records of the operations it performs as the Depository Bank for each fund individually and regularly reconciles these with the Company’s records. Furthermore, it reports any violation of the provisions of the Law to the Commission. The Depository Bank for the Funds managed by VFP Fund Management AD Skopje is Komercijalna Banka AD Skopje.
The assets of the Funds are separate from the assets of the Company, meaning your assets do not depend on the financial result of the Company managing the Fund. In case the company closes or goes bankrupt, the management of the Funds is transferred to another Investment Fund Management Company. The selection of the new Company is done by the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia. As an investor in a specific fund, you retain the right to request the redemption of your units and the payment of their value to your transaction account.
In case of liquidation of the Fund, the entire portfolio of the Fund is sold, and the remaining net asset value of the Fund is distributed to the unit holders proportionally to their units in the Fund.
Upon submitting a Redemption Request to the Company, the Company is legally obliged to pay the value of your units into your transaction account within 7 calendar days. You have the right to submit a Redemption Request at any time. No penalties are charged for withdrawing funds earlier than the recommended investment period.
When a certain country or company needs funds for various purposes—such as investing in new profitable facilities, infrastructure projects, and similar—it has several options, one of which is issuing a bond. The goal is to collect sufficient funds from different investors, while committing to repay the initially collected funds, increased by interest, to the bondholders on a specified date, either in a lump sum or in installments. Bonds are most often traded on the secondary market, meaning they have a market value and can be sold before their maturity date, unless they are held until maturity.
For a company (Joint Stock Company) to start operations, it needs equity capital. This means that several people (future owners of the company) invest part of their funds in the company and, proportionally to their investment, acquire ownership of a certain part of the company—i.e., they acquire a certain number of shares. Profits (or losses) and decision-making rights are then shared proportionally to the invested amount.
At some point, one of the company’s owners may need funds or may no longer want to be an owner of the company. In that case, they can sell their shares on the capital market to an investor who wants to become a part-owner of the company. Large companies, due to their past growth or the substantial capital they have raised from many investors, consist of a large number of shares that are regularly traded on the capital market. Today, this allows you to easily acquire ownership in companies such as Apple, BMW, Microsoft, L’Oréal, Walt Disney, McDonald’s, and others.
